Quick answers

How much does it cost?
Luxury Vacation Photography starts from CHF 550. The final price depends on the place, duration, date, time of day, travel and any add-ons such as video, and is stated in your proposal before you book.
How long does it take?
A typical session lasts 1 h 30 min and you receive around 60 edited photos.
What is included?
  • Around 90 minutes of photography at a place near your hotel or on your route
  • A short message beforehand about outfits, timing and the spot
  • Group, couple and individual portraits, plus relaxed moments in between
  • Professional editing of the selected photographs
Where does it take place?
Popular places include Zurich, Geneva, Lucerne, Interlaken, and Lugano. Your photographer suggests the best spot for your date, the light and the crowds.
Who is it for?
  • Couples and families staying in a Swiss hotel or chalet for a few days
  • Multi-generation trips where everyone wants to be in the same photograph
  • Groups of friends celebrating a birthday or anniversary on holiday
  • Guests at ski resorts who want winter pictures without carrying a camera
How does booking work?
Send a free request with your place, date and plans. Alpiora checks which photographers are available and replies with a proposal stating the photographer, the package and the exact price. Nothing is booked until you accept.

On most holidays one person takes the photos and is missing from all of them. A vacation photoshoot fixes that: a local photographer spends 90 minutes with you where you are staying, and you come home with pictures of the whole group in the places that made the trip.

The session fits around your plans rather than the other way round. Many guests book the first or second evening, before the weather or the programme changes, and meet the photographer in the hotel lobby or on the promenade outside. Children can join for part of the time and leave when they have had enough.

City and lakeside sessions start at CHF 550; in Alpine resorts such as Zermatt, St. Moritz or Gstaad the starting price is CHF 650 because of travel and mountain transport. For two or more places in one session see the Swiss photo tour, and for a whole day of coverage the full-day experience.

How it works

  1. 1

    Send your request

Tell us where you are staying, your travel dates, how many people will be in the photos and what you would like. The availability request is free and carries no obligation.

  2. 2

    We match a photographer

We check which reviewed photographers work in that resort or city on your dates and speak your language. We reply personally.

  3. 3

    You receive a proposal

The proposal names the photographer, the meeting point, the duration, the number of edited photos, the price and the payment terms.

  4. 4

    Confirm and enjoy the session

Once you accept, the booking is confirmed. On the day the photographer meets you at the agreed place, and the gallery follows within the time stated in your proposal.

Where the session happens

Most vacation sessions happen within walking distance of the hotel. In Lucerne the old town and the lakefront along Lake Lucerne are minutes apart. On Lake Geneva, Montreux has a long flower-lined promenade, and Lugano combines lakeside walks with an Italian-speaking old town. In the mountains, car-free Zermatt has Matterhorn views from the village, St. Moritz and Gstaad suit winter and summer sessions, and Verbier and Andermatt work well for ski-holiday pictures. Preparation tips

  • Book the session early in your stay, so a rainy day still leaves time to reschedule.
  • Coordinate colours rather than matching outfits; muted tones sit well against lakes and snow.
  • Ask the hotel in advance whether photography in its lobby, garden or terrace is allowed.
  • For children, plan the session after a nap or a meal, and keep it close to the hotel.
  • In winter, bring gloves and a warm layer to wear between shots; hands and faces redden quickly in the cold.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a vacation photographer cost in Switzerland?

A 90-minute vacation session through Alpiora starts at CHF 550 in cities and lakeside towns and at CHF 650 in Alpine resorts. The price depends on the photographer, place, date, time of day and add-ons. Your proposal states the exact figure before you book.

Can the photographer meet us at our hotel?

Yes, most sessions start at the hotel or a spot nearby. If you want photos inside the hotel, ask the hotel for permission first; some restrict photography in public areas.

How many people can be in a vacation photoshoot?

A session suits a couple, a family or a group of friends. Tell us the number of people and their ages in your request, as larger groups may need more time and that is reflected in the proposal.

Can we have photos in more than one place?

Yes. One place is typical for 90 minutes; for two or more places with travel in between, the photo tour is designed for that. Your photographer can advise what fits in the time.

Do you offer vacation photoshoots in winter?

Yes, winter sessions are possible in cities and ski resorts. Days are short, so the session is usually in the afternoon, and mountain lifts and weather affect which spots are reachable.

When will we receive our holiday photos?

The delivery time is stated in your proposal and agreed in advance. Photos arrive in a private online gallery that you can share with everyone who was there.
