A typical session lasts 1 h 30 min and you receive around 60 edited photos.
What is included?
  • Planning of place, time and route around your itinerary

How does booking work?
Send a free request with your place, date and plans. Alpiora checks which photographers are available and replies with a proposal stating the photographer, the package and the exact price. Nothing is booked until you accept.

Wedding photos are about the day. Honeymoon photos are about the two of you afterwards: relaxed, without a timetable, in a place you chose together. A honeymoon session gives you those images without spending the trip holding a phone at arm’s length.

The honeymoon package is longer than a standard couple session, usually 90 minutes, because there is no reason to hurry and because many honeymoon stops are in the mountains, where getting between spots takes time. Some couples bring their wedding outfit for part of it; most simply wear what they would wear on the trip.

Alpiora matches you with an independent photographer reviewed for portfolio, local knowledge and languages at the place you choose. You receive a proposal with their name, package and price before anything is booked. If you are still planning the route, our honeymoon locations guide compares the regions.

How it works

  1. 1

    Share your itinerary

Send a free availability request with your travel dates and the places you will stay. If you are unsure which stop to choose, say so; the request places you under no obligation.

  2. 2

    We match a local photographer

We check which reviewed photographers are free at your chosen stop and reply personally, pointing out anything that affects timing, such as lift maintenance periods.

  3. 3

    Proposal and confirmation

You receive a proposal with the photographer, duration, price, payment terms and delivery time. The booking is confirmed when you accept.

  4. 4

    Meet on the day

The photographer agrees a meeting point near your hotel or station and watches the forecast with you, so the session can move to a better hour if needed.

Where the session happens

Lucerne combines an old town, the lake and mountain excursions within reach. The villages around Interlaken give you lakes and valley views in one day. In car-free Zermatt the Matterhorn is the centrepiece, if the clouds allow. Lugano has palms along the lakefront and a milder climate, and Montreux pairs the Lake Geneva promenade with Chillon. For a winter honeymoon, St. Moritz is a classic. Location-specific pages: honeymoon in Zermatt and honeymoon in Lucerne. Our honeymoon photoshoot guide covers planning in depth.

Preparation tips

  • Book the session early in the trip and keep a spare evening afterwards in the same place. If the weather turns, you have a second chance.
  • Choose the stop where you stay at least two nights; one-night stops leave no room to move the session.
  • If you bring your wedding outfit, check how you will get there. A long dress on a crowded train or a gravel path needs planning.
  • Pack one outfit you both feel good in and keep it clean for the day, rather than an entirely new wardrobe.
  • In the mountains, bring a warm layer and sunglasses for between shots, even in summer.
  • If you want photographs in your hotel, ask the hotel first; the photographer can help coordinate.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a honeymoon photoshoot in Switzerland cost?

Honeymoon sessions through Alpiora start from CHF 650 for around 90 minutes. Two or more places on the same day start from CHF 850, and a longer Swiss photo tour with travel between places from CHF 1,200. The final price depends on photographer, place, date and add-ons and is stated in your proposal.

When during our trip should we book the session?

Early in the trip, at a stop where you stay at least two nights. That leaves a spare evening if the weather is poor, and you still look rested. Avoid your arrival day and the day of a long transfer.

Can I wear my wedding dress?

Yes. Plan how you will get to the location in it, and ideally choose a place close to your hotel or a short walk from a station. Many couples wear the wedding outfit for part of the session and change into travel clothes for the rest.

Can we be photographed in several places?

Yes. A multi-location session covers two or more nearby places on the same day, for example Lucerne’s old town and a lakeside village. For a whole day across the country, see the Swiss photo tour or the full-day option.

What if the weather is bad on our only day?

Light rain or low cloud can still give good photos in old towns and by the lakes. If it is not workable, the photographer will suggest another time. Rescheduling and cancellation terms are stated in your proposal, which is why a spare evening helps.

Do you photograph honeymoons in winter?

Yes. Snowy villages and frozen landscapes make for strong images, and resorts such as St. Moritz and Zermatt are busy in winter. Days are short, so sessions usually take place around midday or the early sunset; dress in warm layers under your outfit.
